Houthis claim fresh strikes on Saudi airports as war of claims escalates

Yemen’s Houthi movement claimed on Monday evening that a ballistic missile “accurately hit” Riyadh’s King Khalid Airport, while a drone scored a “direct hit” on the Khamis Mushait airbase in the south. The Saudi-led coalition said the Riyadh-bound missile was intercepted, and explosions were reported over Riyadh as mobile aerial-threat alerts reached residents. The Houthis also warned of retaliation if the United States joins Saudi military operations. Both sides traded competing tallies: the Houthis say Saudi Arabia carried out 119 strikes on Houthi-held areas in 24 hours, while Yemeni government forces claim 1,879 attacks and about 950 Houthi fighters “neutralized”.

Trump’s Russia-Ukraine energy ceasefire effectively dead, oil climbs to $107

President Trump’s proposed “energy ceasefire” between Russia and Ukraine has effectively collapsed. President Zelensky said Ukraine will continue striking Russia’s energy infrastructure since Moscow keeps hitting Ukraine’s, adding that Kyiv “doesn’t read Truth Social” — a jab at how the ceasefire was announced. The Financial Times reports Washington is threatening to cut intelligence-sharing and weapons procurement to pressure Kyiv into halting deep strikes on Russian refineries. Brent crude climbed about 1.8% to settle near $107 a barrel, widening the war premium on both fronts.
