Top World News — October 11, Evening

Welcome to our evening roundup of the top world news for Sunday, October 11, 2026. Yemen’s Houthis have renewed their warning against using Saudi airports, while crypto markets saw another day of heavy ETF outflows from Ether funds. Here are today’s key stories.

Houthis renew warning to stay away from Saudi airports and airspace

Yemen’s Houthi movement on Sunday warned airlines, travellers, and airport workers to stay away from Saudi airports and Saudi airspace, calling them a “theatre of operations” for their forces and saying Saudi Arabia bears responsibility for any failed interceptions. The warning follows the deadly Saturday strike on Riyadh’s King Khalid airport that killed 12 people and wounded 309. Separately, the Saudi-led coalition reported intercepting a drone on Sunday, while Saudi Arabia’s energy ministry said a long-planned international energy conference still went ahead in Riyadh on Sunday. India condemned the attack on Sunday; Pakistan’s condemnation was reported earlier.

Ether ETFs post ninth straight day of outflows

US spot Ether ETFs lost $56.1 million on October 9, marking the ninth consecutive day of outflows — roughly $697 million over the nine sessions, according to a Crypto Week Ahead report. Bitcoin ETFs saw a modest $21.1 million inflow on October 9, but five-day flows remain negative at around -$679 million. Looking ahead, markets are watching the October 12 Nasdaq listing of Evernorth, the Ripple-backed XRP treasury company trading as XRPN, Wednesday’s US September CPI report, token unlocks from Aptos and Arbitrum, and Friday’s options expiry.

Market snapshot

Bitcoin traded around $83,124, up about 0.28%, with the Fear & Greed index at 61 in “Greed” territory and BTC dominance at 59.2%. Ether hovered near $2,507. Oil markets were closed on Sunday; Friday’s closes stand at roughly $104.72 for Brent and $91.85 for WTI. Key upcoming catalysts include the XRPN Nasdaq listing on October 12, US CPI on October 14, and the FOMC meeting on October 28.
