eBay Australia: fee-free sellers move to fully managed shipping from November 11
eBay Australia is moving fee-free sellers to a fully managed shipping model, following the same playbook it used in the UK. eBay announced the change on October 9 as part of an update to its User Agreement.
From November 11, 2026, sellers without a Pro plan must use prepaid shipping labels for eligible domestic transactions. eBay will calculate the shipping cost based on the buyer’s location and package details, collect the payment directly from the buyer, and automatically provide a prepaid Australia Post label after each sale. Sellers who offer free shipping will instead pay a discounted flat rate based on package weight, deducted from their sales proceeds.
This mirrors the UK’s Simple Delivery model for private sellers. It also signals where eBay is heading globally: the company is already testing managed shipping with select US sellers in limited categories, so US sellers should watch this space.
